New Crib!

Last night was Ian's first night in his new digs. I was sure he would appreciate the incredible comfort that a real mattress offers and would silently drift off into the deepest, most satisfying (and longest) night sleep ever. Instead, Scott tells me he shook the railing for 20 minutes and pushed all his binkies out through the slats. And he woke up a good hour before he normally does this morning. Apparently extreme comfort takes some getting used to.

When I was finally ready to order the crib online, I was overjoyed to see that it was 15% off. Then I was depressed to realize the crib had sold out earlier that day. Thankfully, one crib was available in one store, and it happened to be only 10 minutes away. And they put it on hold for me. Whew!

Here are some shots of Scott setting up the crib. For whatever reason, I feel like these events must be documented.

WOW! So beautiful and he looks like such a big boy! lol, I always thought they looked "small" in the big bed and yep it will take some adjustment time, lol.

Just another quick question, lol, did it take more then one night to set up the bed? lol, I just noticed Scott is wearing two different outfits, or he went to change midway? lol. Just thought I would ask, it is too cute and yes these are major events! lol.

I thought Ian looked so small in it, too!

Yeah, those pictures were taken on different nights. The first night Scott started setting it up in our room after Ian went to bed -- I just couldn't wait another day to see it all set up! But we were afraid it wouldn't fit through the door to his room if he assembled it completely, so he finished the job the next night in Ian's room. It was a quick job though -- Scott is so handy!

Nancee-Don't you love being married to an engineer. Troy has put together many a baby item. Love the new crib. Erica still hasn't figured out how to put her pacificer through the slats, but I'm sure that day is coming soon.

Troy-Um.

I think that Ian just realizes how awesome that crib looks and therefore is too excited to sleep.

What a beautiful crib Lesley! What a lucky little guy and a sweet husband to put it all together. I also love that Texas pillow in the last picture and Ian's overalls.

Thanks for your comments about PhD schools. I think Jared will end up going to visit UC Davis, we'll let you know how it goes!

I love your music too! I may just stay here for a while and let it play while I organize papers. . .

That's why we introduce our kids to new beds starting with naps. That way they get used to it a little at a time. I love the crib.

Being married to a dancer means I assemble things myself. But only because he's gone. He has plenty of experience helping the stagehands putting things up and down!
But my little brother Scottie was always pretty good at figuring things out.

Noah has become a pro at shaking the crib railings...it drives me nuts! Your crib is so pretty, that was so nice of the store to hold it for you. I'm glad you documented everything with pictures, it's fun for us to get to see what you guys are up to!

How many teeth does Ian have now? It looks like four on top and two on the bottom with more coming very soon! He won't be eating pureed food at all very soon. It's time for the diced soft foods. Isn't it so wonderful to watch the day to day miracles in the growth of a baby? And Ian is such a happy, well-cared for boy. He's a cutie!

Breathtaking!! :)

The crib is gorgeous, and will definitely be an heirloom!

The style is timeless and will work with both genders really well--Not to mention once Ian realizes how much more room he has, he'll ADORE it too!!
