Nursery!

Today was Joseph's first day in nursery and as expected he waltzed right in and acted like he owned the place. He claimed a ride-on toy, ate everyone's leftover snacks, and even dished out a few swats on the head. But he also shared, knew all the songs, and seemed to enjoy interacting with his little peers.
I know all this because it was also my first day in nursery. I was asked to be one of two teachers for the youngest nursery and I think I will really enjoy getting to spend time with Joseph and his little friends (who are the adorable children of my friends). I don't get to spend much time with Joseph without his big brother around, so I think it will be a unique setting for me to get to enjoy being with Joseph.

I wanted to get some pictures of Joseph on his very first day but the camera couldn't be located until after church and after his 'fell asleep in the car and somehow woke up in my crib" nap. So the pictures I took were of a crabby, smooshed-faced little nursery-goer and mostly looked like this:
I just couldn't resist making Joseph wear the same outfit Ian wore on his very first day of nursery. Can you tell they are brothers? I don't think they look much alike. But notice how completely adorable both of them are!

Awww, first day of nursery!!! Hooray! What a perfectly adorable outfit for the occasion!

Weston eats the leftover snacks, too. One time the nursery leader actually told me that Weston probably wouldn't be hungry for lunch, because he'd eaten so many snacks. Haha!

I agree - definitely brothers, but not exactly alike. Which is perfect, in my mind. :)

I'm glad you're seeing nursery as a blessing. I think I would cry if they asked me to be in there... I need that little break!

I noticed Joseph's totally adorable outfit in church - that's funny that it was Ian's first outfit for nursery as well. Yes they are both adorable, and I agree that they don't look much alike. I really thought they looked so much like brothers when Joseph was little, but the older he gets the more different he looks from Ian. I love the screaming picture - so much personality!!

CUTE!!! Lesley, I can't believe Joseph is old enough to go to nursery!! How, how did that happen?! Joseph looks SO GROWN up in these pictures, and soo handsome!!!

I loved what you said about using this calling as a chance to have one on one time with Joseph. That is such a beautiful, positive way to see the calling. I love your outlook on life! I always learn so much from you!! :)

So, you're in nursery? You have a great attitude. You should get chocolate for your snack.
