Houston, Here We Come!

Check out this cute onsie! My friend and former co-worker Sandra went all the way to Houston, just to get this for us. : ) Note the plush cowboy boots, too. We leave this Saturday, May 26, for Houston.

A fun visit from the Arnolds

President and Sister Arnold stopped by for a visit this afternoon. I am so glad Scott has kept in touch with them since serving in Rostov, Russia --they are such supportive friends!

Auntie Laura

Here we are with my former boss (and dear friend!) Laura, at the BYU School of Music. It was so fun to see her when we were on campus the other day.

Smiley Baby

Ian has just started smiling at us! Here he is working up to a big grin.

Gone FISHIN'!

Scott, Ian and I went fishing with Scott's good buddy Mark Allen and his wife Ashley yesterday. We went to a pond down by Lone Peak High, and it was a GORGEOUS night. Scott snagged this Blue Gill, and then released it. Unfortunately, the fish first swallowed the hook, and somehow lanced his eye with it. Yuck. Once back in the water, the fishy didn't seem any worse for the wear, though.

Tired Mommy, Adorable Baby

Snugglin'

Game 5 of the Jazz vs. Warriors series was not exciting enough to keep Ian and Lesley awake. Don't worry, we woke up in time for the fourth quarter.

Big Daddy, Little Ian

I took these pictures when Ian was just staring up at Scott and the lights in our bedroom. He was really content. This is Ian's favorite way to be held, and I thought he looked so adorable with his daddy.

Our Little Sleeper

Isn't this onsie adorable? My equally adorable sister Allison and her hubby Jason got this for Ian -- it reads "Party in my crib, 2 a.m." There are nights when that is more appropriate than others, but on this particular night, Ian slept through the night! That makes a total of 4 or 5 times now.

Lesley's Birthday

We had lunch at my favorite Indian restaurant. Yum! We decided that maybe it was a little too early in the day for such strong flavors... but it was fun!

A double-layer chocolate silk pie! Delicious!

Dollar hot-dog night at the Cougars game! This day couldn't get any better!

Scott gave me a copy of my very favorite book, To Kill a Mockingbird!

BATH TIME!

Ian has decided he likes bath time, and lays calmly in the water for the whole thing, except for some occational leg kicks. He seems to feel safe with his daddy's strong hands supporting him.

Scott's Defense

Sadly, these are the only pictures I got of Scott on the day of his thesis defense. They were taken right before he blew us all away with a fabulous presentation. I was so glad Ian and I could be there to see him in action! The three professors on his committee passed him, and one said what Scott had done was equivalant to TWO master's theses.

Three Weeks Old

On the eve of Ian's three week birthday, he slept through the night! It was glorious. (of course, I still woke up every hour to make sure he was still breathing...) I tried not to expect him to do it again... and he didn't. At least not yet. Hopefully he is working up to making it a regular occurance. He sure does sleep well though!

You may have noticed that Ian seems to have regained his birthweight quite nicely. : ) In fact, at his 2 week appointment, he was up to 11 lbs. 3 oz, a net increase of 12 ounces since birth! What a good baby. I especially like the little creases on his arms -- they make for a fun challenge at bathtime. And he is just perfect for cuddling.

Graduation & Scott's Thesis Defense

Lesley graduated last week from BYU with a bachelors in Public Relations. We opted to just watch convocation on TV. In other news, Scott will defend his master's thesis this Friday afternoon. We are nearly done!
