Happy Birthday Ian James Larson!

Ian James Larson was born on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 7:15 am. Lesley went into labor at about 3am that morning and within a few hours we had a 10 lb. 7 oz., 21 in beautiful baby boy. That's right, 10 lbs. 7 oz. All the nurses kept saying that they were surprised that she gave birth to a 2-month old. He eats like a bear already, and he was a little hungry the first couple days so his blood sugar was a little low. We started suplementing with formula and he seems a lot more happy. This morning before we brought him home they checked his billirubins (if you know what that is great, if not check Wikipedia and then let me know too). So he has a nice little light bed that he is going to have to spend the next day or so in. Everyone is doing great and we are really happy to have him in our family. It is such a joy to have a baby in the family! Here are a bunch of pictures.

This little bottle is looking better and better...

Well, I think the licorice method is officially debunked. I ate nearly the whole bag in an hours time and although it made me sick to my stomach, no contractions resulted. (Big shock.) I used to love black licorice...

Waiting...

Well, I suppose it is only fair that he is late -- I was two weeks late myself. And they say only 5% of babies arrive on their due date. But I would have settled for EARLY! I am taking a bag of black licorice to Scott's intramural football game tonight and I plan to down the whole thing before we get home -- we will put this bizzare induction method to the test. (Neither of us hold out much hope. :) But it does seem less scary than Castor Oil.

And then there were three... almost.

Here are the first photos of baby boy Larson. Isn't he so adorable already? He still has yet to arrive, but is expected any day now. His due date is April 6.
We promise to post pictures here as soon as he arrives.
