Texas BBQ!

We stopped at this BBQ place after picking my mom up at the airport. This is located in downtown Houston, but lucky for us there is another one a few miles from our house! The BBQ is amazing, but the cantelope drink is even better. And you have to love the cow on the roof. We went again while my mom was still in town. Soooo good.

Painting, Drapes, Rainstorms and BBQ

A few days after Scott started work, Mom Ogden came out for a visit. She is an interior designer, and was wonderfully helpful with selecting paint colors, laying out room arrangements (complete with a to-scale blueprint of the house), and in shopping for furniture. (We ended up finding "the perfect" couch at a consignment store she located online.) She also made beautiful, custom, curtains for three rooms before she left. (Pictures to follow). Although we all know the real reason she came-- Grandma just can't stay away from Ian's chubby cheeks.

While she was here, we also ate a lot of Texas BBQ. And got trapped in several torrential rainstorms. I now really feel like we are in Texas.

Sarah and Ryan Kearns are living in Houston for the summer, and Sarah came by to keep Ian and I company last week. They really hit it off!
